Ladies and gentlemen, citizens of this nation, good morning. According to John Locke & Thomas Jefferson, the government is based on the consent of the governed. As a democratic country where the people are the highest form of political authority, I’ll ask you as ordinary citizens of this nation- Is this definition evident here in the Philippines?
Some might say yes for we have adequate rights to vote and there is freedom of speech, however, there are people keen enough to noticed that the role of the government to the nation has been inversed. Rather than to serve the nation, the nation has been serving for the unjust benefit of those who are in power. This has been my one and only reason for running for presidency. As an ordinary citizen like you who have witness corruption and dishonesty with my own two eyes, I felt like it is my responsibility to stand up and do the right thing.
From redeeming a strong economy that is free from corruption and is transparent to its people to respecting journalism freedom, allocating higher budget for health, freeing education for all especially the indigenous people and most importantly to improve the plight of the poor. Our nation may not be as rich as others, but it will be with the right amount of justice and judgement by all. I encourage you all my fellow Filipinos to join me in this fight for integrity and excellence. To be wise enough to decipher the ones with platform and vision for the country than those who uses fame to win the people.
Therefore, justly and sensibly exercise your rights to vote, if not for yourself, then do it for those who have nothing but hope, do it for the future of our nation.
